Lorax Community is currently expanding and presently in need of fiscal support as a means to cover everyday operational expenses for our education centre, garden, workshops and other related projects in the New York boroughs. We are also working toward funding gardening and educational endeavours currently under way in Cincinnati, Ohio. We are aiming to move forward quite rapidly and hoping to reach the West Coast by late 2011, so any investments or leads in that direction are also most welcome and very much appreciated.

CULTIVATE

We are in need of the following services from expert volunteers:

• Fundraising: Fundraising events, online activism, capital campaigns
• Communications: Marketing materials development, press releases, advertising
• Volunteer Coordination: Engage volunteers in duties to which they are best suited
• Teachers: Instructors for classes and workshops, leaders for groups and events
• Social Media Management: Promote the project, classes and events related to such by way of online social media (blogging, Twitter, FaceBook, MySpace, LinkedIn) & manage accounts related to such
• Household Maintenance: Help in maintaining cleanliness and presentation of our guest space/learning centre
• Grounds Maintenance: Help in maintaining the outdoor garden, landscaping, pruning, removal of trash
• Gardeners: Assist with planning, cultivation, maintenance and care of indoor & outdoor garden spaces, seed preservation, labelling, creation of appropriate notes pertaining to daily activity and growth
• Carpentry: Renovation of the Lorax Community spaces
• Interior Design: Improvements on the Lorax Community spaces
• Secretary: Emails, phone, research, calendar management
• Printer: Ecologically friendly printing of our promotional and educational materials. Willing to offer sponsorship.
